My writing investigates immigrant realities, contemporary womanhood, and precarious relationships

My writing investigates immigrant realities, contemporary womanhood, and precarious relationships. through my plays, i explore where the roots of dysfunction begin, and build unapologetic, controversial characters, in desperate need of healing.

2024

As I continued developing The Black Casket (independent tv-writing adaptation commission), I got to present my new play, “Until Dark”, at Out of the Box Theatrics, in February, for a 3 week-run, produced by Et Alia Theater. The production was acclaimed by both audiences and critics! Check out my “Press” page to check out reviews and articles about the show! And… the show is currently being translated in Spanish and in Italian! The Spanish translation will be presented in a reading in Puerto Rico through Teatro Publico this April! The production will also be adapted and reprised to be presented for a one time only at the Romanian Cultural Institute of NYC.

2023

This has been a very exciting year for my writing! I was a recipient of the of the Fall ‘23 Woodward Guest Residency, where I got time and space to focus on my first independent TV writing commission (I am adapting a historical novel into a limited series!) My new play, Until Dark, made the finalist selection of the inaugural Et Alia Theater Lab. After workshopping it with director Ines Braun, the play was proclaimed winner of the Lab. I am now in residency with Et Alia, and are preparing to fully produce the play next year, after winning a West Village Rehearsal Co-Op.

2022

In January, I was commissioned by the Italytime Cultural Center to curate a new piece of mine. I pitched to creative producer and direct a devised piece on the multicultural experience of women living in NYC. I invited 6 strangers aged 21 to 36, and after meeting twice a week for a couple of months, I conceived a fictionalized version of our conversations, which culminated in a lyrical piece: “Reminiscence”. I collaborated on the piece with Dramaturg Covi Loveridge Brannan, producer Vittorio Capotorto, composer Judette Elliston, Lighting Designer Adrian Yuen, Choreographer Julia d’Angelo and Movement Director Clara Wiest. We presented the piece in June 2022.

2021

In June, I presented an original One-Act of mine, Synergy, at the Denver Fringe Festival, at the Cleo Park and Robinson Dance Theater. My one act play “in the Name of the Father”, was supposed to be presented at TADA Theater, but was sadly cancelled due to the global pandemic. During the lockdown, a short play of mine, “fostering joy”, made the final selection of the “Coronavirus Festival”, a 1 minute play festival featuring over 500 plays, produced by the Dramatist Guild on Zoom.

2020

I spent the lockdown doing dramaturgical research for my play “Until Dark”, and learnt about the US judiciary legal system.

2019

Vittorio Capotorto, Artistic Director of the Italytime Cultural Center, commissioned me to write a One Act play about love, to be produced at a One-Act festival, titled “Ah, Love!” which I also Executive Produced and Associate Directed. My one-act play “Perfetto” was featured besides original pieces by Paolo Tartamella and legendary Italian author Dacia Maraini on May 2019. I also presented my thesis project at the New school for Drama “Wrong Crowd”, where I wrote the book of a jubox musical inspired by and featuring music by Tom Odell. The first act of the piece was presented at the Glassbox theater directed by Jessica Ashleigh Pomeroy in March 2019. In November 2018, an original One Act play of mine, “In the Name of the Father” was presented in a staged reading at IATI Theater, produced by Miranda Theater Company. In May 2018, I made my stage playwriting debut Off-Off Broadway at Dixon Place, with my impressionist-play, “hallelujah”.
