It's how I understand and process the world. I strive to write relatable and though-provoking stories, that open windows on matters oftentimes neglected by society, with the hopes of making the marginalized and traumatized feel seen, and less lonely. Through writing, I explore where the roots of dysfunction begin, and build unapologetic, controversial characters, in desperate need of healing. My plays portray immigrant realities, contemporary womanhood, sisterhood, queerness, and precarious relationships. I enjoy portraying bilingual and multicultural realities, and often challenge audience members to absorb non-subtitled material, and exercise the muscles immigrants train on a daily basis. I am recipient of the ‘24-’25 Performance Project Residency with University Settlement with Saraika Movement Collective,, a ‘24 Rattlestick Global Forms Seed Grant Recipient, ‘23 Woodward Guest Residency, and the winner of the inaugural Et Alia Theater Play Lab. I was commissioned twice by the Italytime Cultural Center, where my plays where fully produced alongside the legendary feminist Italian author Dacia Maraini. In New York, my plays have also been presented at Out of The Box, IATI Theater, and Dixon Place. My original play, Until Dark, has been translated in Spanish and presented twice in San Juan, Puerto Rico, by Teatro Publico, and was featured at the Denver Fringe in Colorado.
